Your privacy, in plain words
We only ask for what we need to put Smileys on the map. We never show your exact location, we never ask for your last name, and we never sell or share your information for advertising.
Effective October 8, 2026. Propagatin' Smiles is a program of Sprinklin' Light Worldwide by Globe Changers Kidz.
What we collect
| When you... | We collect | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Log a Smiley | Its location (from your phone or the address you type), and the town it's in | The public sees the town and a dot placed in the general area, about a mile and a half off. Only our team sees the exact spot and the address you typed. |
| Add a name | Your first name (optional) | Public, next to that log |
| Add a note | Your note (optional) | Public after our team approves it |
| Add a photo | Your photo (optional) | Public after our team approves it |
| Make a baby code or get a code online | The new code and which Smiley it came from | Public, on the family tree |
| Use the contact form | Your email, your message, and your name and Smiley code if you give them | Only our team. We use your email only to write back. |
To stop spam, our server keeps a short count of how many codes or messages come from each internet address per hour. We don't use it for anything else.
What we don't do
- No accounts, passwords, or last names.
- No ads, and no tracking or advertising cookies.
- We never sell or rent your information.
- We never show the exact spot where a Smiley lives.
Kids and families
Propagatin' Smiles is made for families. If you're under 13, please log your Smiley with a parent or guardian.
- Use a first name only, or leave the name blank.
- Don't put last names, addresses, schools, or phone numbers in notes. Our team reviews every note and photo before it goes public, and won't approve ones that share personal details.
- Parents can ask us to remove anything their child posted (see below).
Services that help run the site
A few outside services handle parts of the site for us:
- Netlify hosts the website and stores Smiley logs and photos.
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) turns a typed address into a map location, and a location into a town name. The address or location is sent to them to do this.
- Esri provides the map pictures.
- Resend delivers our team's alert emails and contact form messages.
- Google Fonts and cdnjs provide the site's fonts and some code.
When your browser loads the map, fonts, or code, those services can see your internet address, as with any website.
Change or remove your information
You can ask us to hide or remove a log, note, photo, or name, or to delete your contact message. Use the contact form, pick Fix or remove a log, and include the Smiley code. Once we hide something, it comes off the public site right away.
If we change this page, we'll update the date at the top.
